What an incredible 10 days it's been! Everyone said it's hard to be an intern all over again. When I heard that I thought, eh, I won't have any problems. Ha! I forgot how painful it is to be running around like a chicken with your head cut off, always feeling like you're behind schedule! This first week was like jumping into the hottest fire you can imagine! I had to learn three new computer systems, learn three new hospitals, learn about all my pre-existing patients and go to meetings and operations for the other 8-10 hours of the day! Whew! It's finally getting better.
The great news is that the people I'm working with are wonderful! Very unlike some of my past experiences. I feel very welcomed and supported. This makes all the difference in the world! The excitement of the week was last Friday, the men's toilet overflowed out of control which shorted the electrical system to an entire building. We had a huge laugh on that state of affairs.
Well, after my 73+ hour week, I'm tired. More soon I hope. :P
